Who is the seminar teacher?

Cliff McManis, PhD

Pastor at Creekside Bible Church, Cupertino, California
Professor at Cornerstone Bible College & Seminary

Cliff is the Pastor-Teacher of Creekside Bible Church in Cupertino, CA. He has been in pastoral ministry since 1989, serving in churches in southern and northern California, northern Utah, and southern Texas. He has also taught in six different Christian schools over the years. Cliff is the General Editor of With All Wisdom Publications and has authored several books including Biblical ApologeticsThe Biblically-Driven Church and Rescued by Grace. His teaching and preaching ministry to pastors extends internationally to Irpin Seminary in Kiev; Biblical Seminary in Novosibirsk, Siberia; Tenali, India; Ghana, Africa; the UK and Honduras. He is a member of the Fellowship of Independent Reformed Evangelicals (FIRE) and the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS). Cliff has been teaching Apologetics and Bible Exposition at The Cornerstone Seminary since 2007. He and his wife Debbie have four children and reside in the Silicon Valley area.

Apart from teaching apologetics in classroom settings for many years, McManis has also written two extensive books on the topic: Biblical Apologetics (2014), and Redeeming Apologetics (2025). The latter which is based on his recent, and second PhD dissertation (Reframing Apologetics : Proposals for Deconstructing Philosophy’s Hegemonic Hold on Defending the Christian Faith).

What others say about McManis’ work ‘Redeeming Apologetics’ (2025):

“Scripture says, ‘but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and fear’ (1 Peter 3:15). This book fulfills that in a powerful and trustworthy way. I highly recommend it.”

—John MacArthur (Pastor, Grace Community Church, Sun Valley, California. Chancellor, The Master’s University and Seminary

“I have learned an enormous amount from McManis’s engaging, thorough, and informative defense of presuppositionalism.”

—Kelly James Clark, PhD (Distinguished Professor of Philosophy, Ibn Haldun University (Istanbul) and contributing author to Five Views on Apologetics, Zondervan)

“Cliff McManis’ view is not mine, but I can only be thankful for efforts to defend the Gospel message. Cliff has done much research on so many relevant apologetic topics, and his work should be viewed.”

—Gary Habermas, PhD (Distinguished Research Prof., Liberty University and contributing author to Five Views on Apologetics, Zondervan)

“Apologetic methodology is the fruit of epistemology, but many contemporary Christian apologists rely on epistemic principles that originate in Western philosophy rather than divine revelation. In this thoroughly researched volume, Dr. McManis exposes the faulty philosophical foundations that undergird today’s most common approaches to defending the Christian faith. In the process, McManis demonstrates why a faithful apologetic methodology can only be built upon a biblical epistemology. I highly recommend this book.”

—Derek J. Brown, PhD (Academic Dean and Professor of Theology at The Cornerstone Bible College and Seminary and Teaching Elder at Creekside Bible Church, Cupertino, CA)

“Regardless of your view on how to defend the Christian faith, this thoroughly researched, carefully reasoned, and clearly written book will deepen your understanding and challenge you to think more biblically about the apologetic task. I strongly recommend this book to all followers of Jesus Christ who desire to boldly proclaim the gospel and defend it persuasively to a lost world.”

—Terry Mortenson, PhD (International speaker for Answers in Genesis and co-editor and contributor to Coming to Grips with Genesis: Biblical Authority and the Age of the Earth)

“The man of God, in order to effectively and faithfully fulfill the ministry entrusted to him by God, must truly grasp the sufficiency of the Word of God in all facets of gospel ministry – apologetics included. It is for this reason that this work is truly masterful. In it, Dr. McManis does what so many scholars must do to truly defend the faith – employ the Bible as his sword in the arena of apologetics. I have yet to read a book on the same topic that I have found to have the same level of theological perspicuity as this one. I myself have employed the principles found in this work in my own ministry, and can testify to its fruit.”

—J. R. Cuevas, DMin (Oahu Theological Seminary, Lead Pastor and Teaching Elder at Kaimuki Christian Church, Honolulu, HI)
